Things We Do A tale of Monsters Debbie yowled in agony. The white furred vixen writhed in the darkness, her once pretty looks now a mask of pain and suffering. Long raven hair once neatly brushed now splayed out in a frantic mess as the young woman gripped it as a way of trying to avoid the torment that was heaped upon her. ...ALWAYS A DISAPPOINTMENT... ...YOU'RE A FAILURE CHILD... Tears streamed from her blue eyes as wave after wave of shameful emotions assaulted her. "Why?" The vixen cried out as the attack stopped as suddenly as it began. She then noticed that she wasn't alone in the void that surrounded her. Standing a short distance from the girl watching with baleful yellow eyes was a large red tiger. With his hands buried in the pockets of the coat her wore the feline showed no emotions and gave no sign of moving to help the distressed fox. "W-Why are you doing th-this?" Debbie whimpered and struggled to her knees. Before any answer came forth the emotional torment began again. ...SLUT... ...WHORE.. ...PARASITE... Voices of past lovers, friends and even family members assaulted her mind causing the woman to scream and writhe once more. "You assume I am doing this girl?" The pain in the vixens head stopped as the deep rumbling voice pushed her imaginary attackers aside. Debbie looked up at the tiger through tear filled eyes. "Why?" She whimpered again. The tiger sneered at the helpless woman as more images formed in the air between them, images that Debbie recognised. In the scene that appeared it showed the young white furred fox wearing a sexy red dress and carrying her purse casually walking along a dark path in a park when she spotted the red tiger that now tormented her. Debbie looked on and saw her own eyes flash red and her felt her front fangs harden and extend as she felt a hunger deep down in her belly. Then she remembered and realised. Debbie was a vampire, a hunter of the night seeking out fresh prey for their blood. The vixen remembering how she saw the big feline and smelled not only his flesh but sensed a power emanating from him, a power she had to taste. So she stalked this man, quiet and steady. Approaching until the feel of this man's essence was too much to resist where she then attacked. The last scene showing the vixen clinging to the front of the tiger with her fangs embedded in his neck as he calmly held onto her. All the emotional torment happened after this and the fox realised it was all in their minds; the tiger using her memories against her. "What...what are you?" Debbie hissed softly as she felt her strength returning after remembering who and what she was. "A monster." The tiger replied quietly. "Not like you though, I am not stupid enough to hunt something like me." The vampire snarled darkly, her eyes turning red as she glared up at the man in a fierce anger. "FREE ME." It was a hollow challenge and she knew it but she had to try. The tiger gave a sly smile. "That's what I was looking for." He lowered himself onto his haunches in front of the angry vampire. "If you want to be free then just let go." On his last word he reached out and flicked the girls nose, Debbie reacted by flinching back and seeing the the tiger fade away from her mind. "FREE!!" The vixen cried out as her head pulled away from the red tigers neck, the taste of the man's blood was unsavoury on her tongue but this wasn't the main thing on her mind. Released from the man's mind trap Debbie's eyes were drawn to something far behind the pair and something much more dangerous than the feline. The Sun had began to rise over the parks tree-line and the pure light illuminated a large open area the vixen hadn't remembered coming to. "Dark Maker!" She cursed and suddenly tightened her grip on the tiger as she knew there was no escape. The first rays of light hitting her arms and causing them to smoke. Soon the vixen's body began to be affected and with a loud scream of despair the fox shuddered and began to crumble as the Sun stripped away her fur, flesh and bones until only dust remained. During this the tiger stood patiently, wincing a little as the vampires claws dug into his back as she disintegrated under the Suns light until he was holding her red dress in his hands. Dust that had once been Debbie drifting to the ground. "Now you are free." The tiger said with a wry smile and let the dress drop. Turning away the man noticed the girls purse discarded to the side, he casually picked it up and looked through it, pulling out a large wad of dollar bills. "You won't be needing this I guess." Tossing the bag with the dress the tiger moved away from the remains of the vampire as the sound of people rushing towards them became louder. Two police officers responding to a woman’s screams ran down the path and ran past the feline without noticing his presence as he continued on his way. "Was that really necessary?" Sighing deeply the tiger stopped and looked over his should towards the voice of a young girl to see a white lioness in a white frilly dress sitting on a park bench holding a computer tablet in her paws. "You hunt your way child I will hunt mine." "I am not a child." The girl poked her tongue out at him. "Even though you look like one." The man said folding his arms and turning towards her. "I was talking about the money." The lion girl said ignoring the previous comment. "Coffee isn't cheap now a days girl." The big feline shrugged. "Plus there are others out the who deserve it more." "And you decide who deserves it?" The young woman asked with a smile. The light from the sun flashing across the glittery tiara sitting a top her yellow blonde hair. "I doubt you came all the way here just to berate me on how I get my money, so unless you have better ways to waste my time then I am leaving." Huffing in annoyance the tiger turned to go. "The balance is shifting." Another sigh came from the man as he stopped. "Very well then where...?" The tiger looked back towards the lioness girl only to find her right in front of him. She jammed a colourfully decorated envelope into his paw. "My place." She grinned. "Tea will be served at twelve along with pancakes cause I know how much you like those. You know what to bring." Before the red tiger could say anything the girl had disappeared. He looked down at the crayon scrawling on the envelope. "Fine...not dressing up though." He grumbled before stuffing the invitation into his pocket and stalking off once more to find a decent cup of coffee. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Story and Characters (C) Jaffah, 2016 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
